The Truth About Cats and Dogs in Black and White

Truth is just one person's reality. Here is mine in black and white (maybe some shades of gray). This blog has little to do with Cats or Dogs - just humourous sarcastic antics about my life or occasionally, someone else's. You know, intercepting volleyballs with my face, egg dropping, etc. The truth has seen some changes and in fluidity with change expect to see more artistic expressions posting up - so give your two cents worth!

Greatest female superheros of all time

Laurie, you may particularly like this post. I am a big fan of superheros. I grew up watching the original superfriends and at age 4 had a Wonderwoman birthday party. Coincidentally, I am wearing a Wonderwoman belt today. So here is my personal list in reverse order of greatness of the greatest female superheros of all time. These were not easy decisions but in the end...no one rivals a DC superhero.

Honourable mentions: The Phoenix (Jean Grey) - Jean Grey possessed telepathic powers enabling her to read minds, project her thoughts into the minds of others, initiate astral travel, and mentally stun opponents with pure psionic force, among other talents. She also possessed telekinesis, allowing her to levitate and manipulate objects and others, generate force fields, fly, and stimulate heat molecules to generate concussive blasts. The Snowbird (Narya) - Snowbird can mystically assume the form of a female human being, as well as that of any animal native to northern Canada, gaining each animal's special abilities. If she holds an animal shape for too long, her personality may become animalistic. Snowbird also has mystical senses that allow her to detect magical energies, sense the presence of great mystical evil, and achieve limited postcognition. Furthermore, Snowbird possesses superhuman strength and is capable of flight, Former RCMP.

Number 3. Teela (excerpt adapted from Master of the Universe Series Guide). "Headstrong and independent in her own right, Teela is an attractive, quick witted memeber of the royal guard." Teela's duty is to keep watch over the unruly Prince Adam. Daughter of Man-at-Arms and the Sorceress of Eternia, she is resourceful, a master a martial arts, and exceptionally skilled with a freeze ray. Teela is not the least bit interested in Prince Adam as she only has eyes for his alter-ego He-Man. Who met in an exchange of lifesaving rescues - it was love at first sight - for both. She is blue-eyed red head.

Number 2. Batgirl/Oracle. (adapted from DC Comics). Barbara Gordon is the adopted daughter of Commissioner Gordon. A brilliant graduate of Gotham University, she admired the city's resident vigilante Batman and donned a homemade batgirl costume to the policeman's masquerade where she foiled the Killer Moth's attack on Batman. This started her new life as a compatriot to Batman and Robin. The Joker's bullet brought her high flying career as batgirl to an end but despite paralysis, she has accomplished more as a wheelchair-bound crime fighter than she could ever have as batgirl. And this is just the beginning. In her time as batgirl, she served the U.S. Congress, and after her near fatal run-in with the joker she packaged her skills as an information retreival expert under the name Oracle. Combined with her super-hacking skills, possess a photographic memory and hand-to-hand combat, she became known as a legend in the superhero world and recruited heros to act on her data - the birds of prey. She is 5'11, 148 lbs, and a red head with blue eyes.

Number 1. Wonder Woman (Adapted from DC Comics). "Wise as Athena, stronger than Herucles, swift as Hermes, and as beautiful as Aphrodite, Wonder Woman is Princess Diana, champion of Themyscira, the home of the immortal Amazons." She was scupted by clay by her mother Queen Hippolyta and brought to life by the Olympics Gods. She has travelled through time and space, she has been killed by demonfire, and resurrected on Olympus. She can fly at sublight speed, highley resistent to body harm, she can psyhically communicate with animnals, she is an expert in all forms of classical armeed and unarmed combat, a master of the sword, ax and bow and arrow, a skilled tactician and diplomat. Her arsenal includes a magic lasso that forces anyone within its confines to tell the absolute truth and her bracelets deflect bullets...and lets not forget about the invisible jet.

Years later, after becoming mortal and forsaking her royal title she donned the robes of amazon ambassador, not only to the UN but to societies around the world, authored a controversial book recording her observations. Born a princess on an island of immrtal women created by the gods themselves, Wonder Woman has become a legend in the galaxy. Her mission is clear, promote peace, love and, equality, while defending the innocent from the forces of evil. She is premiere member of the Justice League of America and rumoured to be carrying superman's child. She is 6ft, 165 lbs, with black hair and blue eyes. Where is our Wonder Woman?

Comments...

Good list.

I noticed a certain red-headed trend with the first two. And for sure WW is number one...who else would it be?

And she's carrying Superman's baby! Does Lois know? Scandel.
